We are planning to host 2 volunteers from different countries (1 from each country) aged 18 – 25, for 9 months, during period from 1.08.2016.-30.04.2017.
HERE IS SOME INFO ABOUT LOCATION AND PROJECT ACTIVITIES
Liepaja’s Children and youth centre is the only non-formal education centre in Liepaja (Latvia). Our centre ensures possibility to learn
Latvian language, to get know Latvian culture and traditions through centre organised activities, festivals, events, thematically events, for local children and youngsters. Volunteer will get experience in youth work and work with children who participate in after school activities, shows, festivals, exhibitions etc.
Volunteer will have approx. 7-8 working hours (10:00-18:00 or 12:00-20:00) per working day and free weekend. It is possible to work in weekend (rarely) but it would be compensate by free time in working
days. Working day schedule for volunteer will include Latvian language lessons, participation in meetings, planning and organize activities for local children and youngsters. Volunteer will assist youth workers,
teachers and other employees as photographer, distribute hand-outs, spread information in social networks about organization in English and Latvian (as tool to help learn Latvian language), and do other
organizational things to arrange exhibitions, shows, intellectual games, seminars, conferences, assist to promote in non-formal education process among children and youngsters. It will be acceptable and recommended for
volunteer to plan his/her own initiatives and organize activities for local children and youngsters.
